Learn to make savory chocolate desserts, send your taste buds on a Caribbean
cruise or learn tips for cooking light. Allan Hancock College Community
Education is offering five, two-day cooking and nutrition classes that make it
easy and convenient to explore the culinary arts.
Registration is now under way. All classes meet on a Friday or Saturday on
the Santa Maria campus in room
J-14. The first class begins Jan. 29.
Students can choose from one or all of the following classes:
Quick Meals with Whole Foods (Jan 29 & Feb 5, 6-10
p.m.); materials fee: $20.
Cultural Aspects of Food: Caribbean Cuisine (March
5 & 12, 6-10 p.m.); materials fee: $20.
Chocolate Desserts (March 19 & 26, 6-10 p.m.);
materials fee: $20.
Light Cooking for One or Two People (April 10 &
17, 10 a.m.–2 pm.); materials fee: $20.
Tarts: Sweet & Savory (April 16 & 23, 6-10 p.m.);
materials fee: $15.
Registration is currently being taken at Community Education (bldg. S) on the
Santa Maria campus.
