Allan Hancock College has announced that 678 students
were named to the Dean’s Honors List for the spring 2010 semester, including 304
named to the Special Honors List.
Of the 678, 219 graduated from Santa Maria Valley high schools, 85 from Five
Cities-area high schools, 78 from Lompoc Valley high schools, 21 from Santa Ynez
Valley high schools, one from Cuyama Valley High School and 274 from high
schools outside the college’s district, including out-of-state and foreign high
schools. Home-schooled high school graduates are listed in the out-of-district
list.
The 304 students named to the Special Honors List included 90 graduates from
Santa Maria Valley, 35 from the Five Cities area, 20 from Lompoc Valley, 10 from
Santa Ynez Valley and 149 from outside the college district.
The lists recognize students’ academic achievement at the college. For each
semester, students named to the Dean’s Honors List must complete at least 12
units with a 3.5 or better grade point average. To be named to the Special
Honors List, students must complete at least 12 units with a 4.0 grade point
average.
Total credit enrollment for the spring 2010 semester was approximately 11,500
students.
